Question: Who are your Top 5 favorite figures of American folk lore?

Scott: I think I'll go broad with this answer (written after Andrew's intro)!

1. Jamestown... upon further review, I think I meant to say Roanoke [smile]
2. Daniel Boone & Davy Crockett... basically anyone who had a Disney show produced about them
3. Johnny Appleseed... first thing that came to mind
4. Roswell... still fascinating after all these years
5. Bigfoot... to quote the late creature FX guru Stan Winston: "It's a guy in a bad fur suit. Sorry!" (Or is it?!)

Andrew: I think I'll follow Scott's lead and define folk lore broadly!

1. Roswell... proving that even aliens can't drive.
2. The Alamo... Americans don't give up.
3. Washington chopping down the cherry tree... It's fitting that our first leader was known for honesty and physical labor.
4. The Gunslinger... mediation with extreme prejudice.
5. Santa... yeah, we didn't invent the idea, but we refined it and the world adopted it.

Tuesday Top 5

The world is a sight to see. Or more correctly, there are many sights to see in our world.

Question: What are the Top 5 tourist locations you want to see?

Andrew: "They ain't got nuthing over there we ain't got here." Heard that a lot in West Virginia.

1. Space, baby!... I want to see this big blue ball from the great beyond.
2. Rome... Never did get to see the home of the Pope.
3. Hong Kong... Not to be confused with King Kong, Hong Kong looks incredible, but I'd like to do it in style.
4. The American Southwest... I need to do that tour again. I love the West.
5. London... I've seen most of Europe, but not London. I hear it's nice, if you like Indian food.

Scott:

1. Easter Island (it's always fascinated me)
2. London (much to do and little time to do it)
3. Sydney (to see the toilet flush in the opposite direction... and other things, too)
4. Las Vegas with a side trip to the Grand Canyon (but I am NOT going on the Skywalk!)
5. Russia (most likely Moscow and Saint Petersburg but I'd love to investigate my family's roots in the neighboring regions)

Andrew: I know what you're thinking. Ok, actually I don't. Here are my answers.

1. Chess -- the brainiest of games.
2. Clue -- Miss Scarlet in the bedroom.
3. Risk -- Canada should belong to the US... to complete the set.
4. Life -- the game about unexpected pregnancies, the risk/rewards of insurance, and lottery winnings.
5. Trivial Pursuit -- the game which gives meaning to the meaningless.

Scott: In no particular order...

1. Monopoly -- a classic!
2. Checkers & Chess (tie) -- I never got into chess but I'm always up for a good game of checkers.
3. Scrabble -- when in doubt, you can always use "the".

Let's start a new feature today by moving a little beyond film and discuss other aspects of entertainment. Today we start with a really, really hard one that probably should have been broken down into more categories, but we totally lack foresight. So here goes!

Question: What are the Top 5 songs of the 1980s?

Scott: In no particular order...

1. "I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)" - The Proclaimers
2. "We're Not Gonna Take It" - Twisted Sister
3. "Thriller" - Michael Jackson
4. "(You Gotta) Fight for Your Right (To Party!)" - Beastie Boys
